Instructions

Special requirement: none

  1. In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, sugar, and mirin. Stir until the sugar is fully dissolved.
  2. Place the chicken thighs in a shallow dish and pour the soy sauce mixture over them. Make sure the chicken is fully coated. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, turning the chicken occasionally.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the chicken from the marinade, reserving the marinade for later use.
  5. Grill the chicken thighs for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and nicely charred.
  6. While the chicken is grilling, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan. Bring it to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 5 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
  7. Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes.
  8. Brush the thickened marinade onto the chicken thighs, coating them evenly.
  9. Serve the teriyaki chicken hot, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Enjoy!
