This cookies policy explains what cookies are, which ones Recipe Realm uses and how you can control them. Cookies do not usually identify you directly, but the information we hold about your account may be linked to data stored in cookies.
We never store sensitive information such as passwords or card details in cookies.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files placed on your computer or mobile device by a website. "Session" cookies are deleted when you close your browser; "persistent" cookies remain until they expire or you delete them. We also use browser storage (localStorage), which works in a similar way.
Cookies and storage we use
All of these are set by us unless stated otherwise:
- Authentication (browser storage "rr-auth"): keeps you signed in between visits by storing your access and refresh tokens. Essential; removed when you log out.
- Language (cookie "rr-locale", 1 year): remembers the interface language you chose.
- Cookie consent (cookie "CookiePolicyConsent", 150 days): remembers that you accepted this policy so the banner is not shown again.
- Google sign in: when you use the Google button, Google may set its own cookies according to Google's privacy policy.
- Stripe checkout: during payment Stripe sets cookies needed for fraud prevention and to complete the transaction, according to Stripe's privacy policy.
Your choices
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. If you block the essential ones you will not be able to stay signed in and some features will not work.
